ORA Animal Feeds was started 10 years ago in response to a severe drought in the Limpopo Province and has grown into a healthy business supplying many game farms and animal breeders in the Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces.
ORA Animal Feeds provides feed throughout the year and caters to a variety of needs. We are a preferred supplier due to the company being able to customise feeds to the particular requirements of the various animals and their "lifestyles". With us, the mantra of 'one size fits all' simply does not apply.
Recent demand has lead ORA Animal Feeds to develop a feed for primates which could possibly assist with the control of baboons seeking food in urban areas.
Horse feed must be tailored to the needs of individual horses and their particular stages of training and for this reason, our horse feeds are produced accordingly and include a 10% maintenance, 12% rider, 14% performer and 16% stud feeds.
The secret to ORA Animal Feeds' success is careful observations to what wild animals prefer toe eat, their preferences being instinctively based on their nutritional needs. This has resulted in most ORA Animal Feeds containing dried and milled orange pulp. The bulk of the quality is guaranteed by the local farming community.
We also have animal nutritionalists and advisors on board continually checking our recipes and developing feeds where there is a specific need.
ORA Animal Feeds has recently been bought by husband & wife team Derek and Leigh Hallendorff. Derek who has 21 years of farming experience in both South Africa and the UK is managing the business operations, while Leigh (with a background in advertising & marketing) is responsible for admin and marketing.
